Lately I’ve been loving my Catrice BB cream.
I haven’t reviewed it yet as I like to test skin care and foundations out for a while before I decide to keep or chuck them. It’s not like eye shadow that you love on first try.
This one I’ve had for about a month and lately I’ve been reaching for it more and more over my Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation. Now that’s really saying something as I LOVE my Bourjois foundation.
When I first started using this product I wasn’t sure I liked it. It didn’t feel like a BB cream to me and it was heavy and hard to apply, but my life changed when I got my Real Techniques buffing brush and I learned how to work with this product more effectively.
This is not very moisturising. I have to use a day moisturiser underneath, that said I think it may be a different story for oilier skins (mine’s quite dry). It gives good light to medium coverage and though it appears to be on the pink side it blends beautifully into the skin. You have to apply this with a brush or sponge. Fingers don’t cut it. That, and its thick texture, makes me shy away from calling it a BB Cream and more towards calling it a foundation.
Now that we’ve got through those I have to say I’m quite in love with it. You still need to conceal blemishes and most days I conceal under my eyes as well, but I can get away without doing that step.
I don’t need to finish with a powder afterwards although most days I do out of sheer habit.
It puts in a good hard day’s worth of work but needs to be touched up before you head out. It looks stunning on camera.
It has SPF 30 which I love! It illuminates and it finishes to a pleasant matte finish.
It’s a great little product and for the bargain price of R70 its really pocket friendly as well.Over all I love the Catrice brand. I think there products are great quality and they are really grown up while retaining a great sense of fun.
I'm in the market for a new foundation and I think I'm going to see what Catrice has to offer from that perspective as well. I'll keep you posted.
